For the last couple of years, Zach and I haven’t been…great…about getting the Emerald City Video Podcast out on anything like a regular schedule. Fewer New Release Wall episodes, more nerdy conversations about physical media and the state of the industry…normal stuff.
In 2025, we had already decided we wanted to get things a little more organized. Step one of that took place today, when I merged as much of our Podbean feed as Substack would tolerate into the existing show. Now, you can go back and listen to every episode since we reviewed Avengers: Infinity War in the Substack app. I’ll also be updating Apple, Spotify, etc., to reflect the Substack feed as the show’s main feed from now on.
Part of the motivation for this came because Zach noticed we had been mentioned in a list of 35 essential podcasts by people in Syracuse. It looks like it’s an auto-generated list by taking analytics and searching the word “Syracuse” in iTunes, but still. Kinda neat to find ourselves in the esteemed company of my friend Brent Axe, whose Syracuse Sports podcast is the #1 show on the list.
(As it should be. If you’re into sports at all, but especially sports relevant to upstate New York, go subscribe to it.)
Anyway. Z and I have more plans coming. And now our feed is mostly consolidated, so you can go back in time and listen to all but the first 25 or so episodes of the show. I also have a number of things I plan to write on Substack in the next couple of days, if I can ever get my computer to work. So…more soon.
